I installed a Mainline Back Flow Valve in a property I own in Akron, Ohio.  Prior to the installation, my tenant complained of water backing up through the floor drain into the basement every time we experienced a heavy rain.  In fact, all of the houses on this particular street flood due to severe public storm sewer drainage problems.

In the six months since installing the Valve, we have not had a single occurrence of flooding, even though Akron has experienced record rainfall this year and other homes on the street have flooded during this time.

The installation was simple and was accomplished by my plumber in one morning.  The tenant is very happy; therefore, so am I !!

I intend on installing this in other properties whenever we "open up" a basement floor. The low product cost and installation cost, combined with the increased reliability and decreased maintenance cost, makes this an ideal product.

Thanks for providing such a great product,

Your Backwater Valve just saved my bacon!

We had torrential storms tonight with flooding all over the streets and rivers overflowing.  Your BW valve kicked in and kept the sewer water from getting in for over 25 minutes until the pressure subsided and the water started to recede.

This could have been my fourth flood.  We had one a year ago and are finally getting the basement back in order.  Another flood would have been devastating.

Thank God I decided to install your valve before we put the basement together again.  Thank you for a great product.

Best Regards,
R. DiVito

backwater-valves.com is independently owned and resells
products produced by various manufacturers and assumes no
liability for the installation of backwater valves and related products.
Check with the plumbing authority in the municipality in which your valve
is to be installed to insure that your installation is in compliance with local code,
and be sure have your valve inspected by your local plumbing inspector after installation.
Inspect your valve frequently; the Backwater Valve through its clear plastic housing top,
and the Adapt-A-Valve, by removing the gate cassette.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Pipe end-to-end, the Adapt-A-Valve takes up 6" of run in your line
and the outlet is 1-1/2" LOWER than the inlet, so in just 6"
the level of the pipe at the outlet side needs to be 1-1/2" lower.
Pipe end-to-end, the Backwater Valve takes up 12" of run in your line
and the outlet is 5/8" LOWER than the inlet, so in just 12"
the level of the pipe at the outlet side needs to be 5/8" lower.
Depending upon the amount of slope in your line
(2% minimum is required for proper operation),
you may need to replace several feet of pipe downstream
from the valve to average out this "loss" of fall.
